The Yarra Valley radio amateur group was established in 1986 and has since provided amateur radio services for the Yarra Valley and the Dandenong Ranges.
As a group we continue to grow and become involved in all types of technology. New members and visitors are always welcome.
We are an active group and involved in all technical aspects of both digital and analogue radio communication. When program material is available we provide a broadcast service to listeners in the Yarra Valley, presenting technical programs and general technology based information. These programs are presented on the VHF amateur band.

The Yarra Valley Amateur Radio Club advises all members, family and friends that the club meetings are open meetings and visitors are welcome.
As our use of computers has increased there has also been an increase in the use of E-QSL, however there is still a massive demand to traditional QSL cards.
From very early in Amateur Radio history the exchange of contact confirmation data has occurred and still occurs in a similar way today

What we do
Our club participates in contests and field days, constructs projects, designs and builds antennas, is involved in digital communications and computer applications and
most of all have fun. .
We are actively participating in provision of training for amateur radio and the development of technical understanding in the electronics field.
In the summer months our meeting nights are social events with pizza and technical movies or a BBQ.
Maker groups are welcome.
